OK so you find yourself here at Basketcase's Official Greenday Tribute website and you want to find out more about the band. Well we are a tribute to the US Rockers Greenday and we have performed all over the UK and abroad as the band and have played some amazing places and to some fantastic crowds.
On the right you will see our lead singer and Billie Joe Armstrong lookalike Mr Kris Edwards who just seems to have this uncanny way of becoming Billie Joe when on stage in front of the crowds. Not only can Kris pull off the look of Billie Joe Armstrong he can seriously perform like him too. Expect to see the full stage presence and all out attitude from this guy, he totally rocks out on stage and gives you the full on American extravaganza that only Billie Joe could. Attention to detail is paramount from Kris, the shoes, the jeans right down to the eyeliner and the American accent he puts on throughout the show. He will have you totally transfixed from start to finish.
What about the show I hear you say! OK, so lets talk about the Basketcase show. These guys really put on a rock n roll show which has detail throughout. The intro music is 2001 A Space Odyssey which Greenday used at Milton Keynes Bowl in 2005. The band come on stage and gather their equipment with Kris Edwards leaving it till the last minute to come on stage as Billie Joe Armstrong and jump on his monitor riser and open his arms out to the crowds before storming into the opening riff of American Idiot. From then on things just go at 100 miles an hour, hit after hit is performed with precision and energy and there are extracts from the American Idiot tour with interaction from Billie Joe to the crowds encouraging them to sing along and chant "1234" during 'Hitchin a Ride' right up to introducing Basketcase's drummer Karl (Tre Cool) to perform his drum solo and Carl as Mike Dirnt to step up and take the stage. The show is a full 90 minute heart racing, foot tapping and air punching performance which will have you entertained from the opening riff to the last chord struck.
